Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway

Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway is widely recognized as an expert on bridal stress, interfaith marriage and unique weddings. She is author of Wedding Goddess: A Divine Guide To Transforming Wedding Stress into Wedding Bliss (Perigee/Penguin May 2005).

She has a busy wedding ministry in New York City, serving hundreds of couples each year, and is founder of the annual “Blessing of the Brides” in Central Park. As a leading interfaith minister and non-denominational wedding officiant, she is known for her warm, loving and creative approach to marrying couples of all backgrounds and faiths, and for guiding them on their journey to the altar. New York Magazine lists her as one of NYC’s best officiants, as does Joan Hamburg in her book, City Weddings. She has also been honored by the New York Press.

Although based in New York City, she has a special fondness for the wedding chapels of Las Vegas. It began many years ago when she visited every chapel in town for a story in Bridal Guide Magazine. She now regularly covers the growing wedding industry and activities for brides and grooms in Vegas. She renewed her vows here with hubby, Rev. Vic Fuhrman – twice!

She is often called upon as a national spokesperson on interfaith marriage, unique wedding ceremonies, bridal customs and bridal stress; and has been interviewed by The New York Times, Newsweek, USA TODAY, Associated Press, Modern Bride, Bridal Guide, The Bridal Book, NY Daily News, Newsday, Inside Edition, WE Network and other media.
Prior to becoming an ordained minister, she was a journalist for 20 years. In her colorful media career she has been editor-in-chief of two national magazines as well as editing numerous regional publications, has published thousands of articles internationally, and has authored many books.

Rev. Laurie Sue joined Wedlok.com as a columnist soon after it launched and is now Editor, guiding coverage of weddings stories in New York, Las Vegas, the world, as well as offering spiritual commentary on celebrity couples and sage advice for brides in her “Ask the Wedding Goddess” column.

Her dream is to have a Las Vegas-style chapel in New York, as well as to officiate a wedding in a Las Vegas chapel.
