Inaugural "Village Craft Beer Festival" Coming To The Village

The Village (MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas) and Buckbean Brewing Company, the largest production microbrewery in Nevada, host the first-ever Village Beer Fest on Sat., March 14, 2009 from 3 – 7 p.m. Tickets for the festival are available at the event for $20 per person which includes an engraved commemorative glass, with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southern Nevada (MDA).
The Village Craft Festival showcases craft beers from around the U.S. served along The Village’s cobblestone streets with waterfront views. Live music by Las Vegas’ The Wedge Brothers will cap off a great day where guests can enjoy these hand-crafted brews in support of a great cause.
“Buckbean’s excited to partner with The Village on this event and hopes it will become an annual event,” said Buckbean Brewing Company Owner Douglas Booth. “The location is perfect for this type of event with restaurants and shops to enhance the experience and a resort in case guests have had too much fun and need a place to sleep.”

It’s a sight most of us will see only once in a lifetime — a human cannonball flying some 160 feet through the air, nearly 80 feet high.


In seven days, The Comedy Festival will officially kick off its third year at Caesars Palace. The four-day event starts next Tuesday, Nov. 14, and will feature dozens of comics and performances.
There was an episode of “The Simpsons” where Sideshow Bob decried the tradition of the air show: “Air show? Buzz-cut Alabamians spewing colored smoke in their whiz-jets to the strains of ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’? What kind of country-fried rube is still impressed by that?”
Now you may or may not agree with this, but it is strictly my opinion that Muse is one of the best bands out there today. They might not necessarily have as broad of an appeal as some other the other big name acts out there, but those in the know will tell you straight away that they play just good old fashion awesome music.
Of all the rivalries in the entire world, one that completely blows me away is that between Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi. You may not have ever heard those names before, but the feats these men have accomplished is nigh on legendary.

It’s the first Friday of the month tomorrow and that means the First Friday art festival downtown. While each First Friday is a unique event, tomorrow marks the 5th anniversary of the monthly street festival.
Halloween is almost here and that means haunted houses are going to be popping up all over the valley, but none will be bigger than the Fright Dome. The annual event will be taking over The Adventuredome at Circus Circus from October 5 through Halloween.
I guess you could call it the World Series of bodybuilding. Mr. Olympia weekend is back in town and will be running from today through Sunday.
The fourth annual Rockabilly Rod Reunion will be taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 6. The reunion will be an all day event and will feature live music, drag racing, pin-up girl contest, and more.
The Clark County’s Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival will be returning to Sunset Park, October 12-14. The annual event will feature costumed performers, historical re-enactments, medieval pageantry and more than 100 artisans – including blacksmiths, stained glass designers, jewelers, wood workers, toy makers, perfume blenders, stone carvers and sword, dagger and armor craftsman.

Michael Moore's Sicko debuted to a sold out, standing room only audience Saturday night at the Orleans theater in Las Vegas. Judging from the excitement in the crowd, the numerous ovations, and the post movie commentary, Mr. Moore has another blockbuster on his hands. The movie sneaked a peek on about 43 screens in cities nationwide. Every one sold out. This has prompted the Weinstein boys to up the release numbers, a good thing for people looking to see the movie early.

Clark County Parks and Recreation presents Bunny Boogie: A Family Fair and Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater. The event’s co-sponsors are 100.5 Jack FM Radio and Prevent Child Abuse Nevada (PCA), an affiliate of the Area Health Education Center of Southern Nevada. Admission and parking* are free.
