Chestnut and Kobayashi to meet at the MLE Chowdown: Wedges and Wings in downtown Las Vegas
Of all the rivalries in the entire world, one that completely blows me away is that between Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi. You may not have ever heard those names before, but the feats these men have accomplished is nigh on legendary.
July 4, 2007. Chestnut took down a world record 66 hot dogs in 12 minutes at the Nathan’s Famous annual hot dog eating contest.
No slouch himself, the previous five-time winner Kobayashi polished off 63 hot dogs, with an injured jaw no less.
This Tuesday, the rivals will meet again at MLE Chowdown: Wedges and Wings at the Freemont Street Experience.
Chestnut currently holds the world record for eating 7.5 lbs. of chicken wings in 12 minutes. The contest will feature Buffalo Wild Wings chicken and potato wedges.
The event will be filmed by Spike TV and broadcast Thursday, October 18.
