Don’t Trash Nevada Day on May 31 at Red Spring
If you care about our community’s environment and would like to support the Don’t Trash Nevada partnership, you should attend Don’t Trash Nevada Day on May 31 at Red Spring.
The family friendly event goes from 10 a.m. to noon and features local mascots, like Mojave Max, Deputy Drip, Smokey Bear, Cosmo, Summerlin Sam and Star Wars characters in a 10 meter (that’s about 33 feet) “Race for Our Desert.” Now that should be entertaining.
Red Spring is a no-fee area of Red Rock Canyon on Calico Basin Road and features plenty of trails and picnic areas. To get there, go west on Charleston Ave. four miles past the Red Rock Hotel and turn right on Calico Basin Road.

Don’t Trash Nevada is funded by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act and managed by the UNLV Public Lands Institute on behalf of the Southern Nevada Agency Partnership, which includes the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and U.S. Forest Service.
