Las Vegas Celebrities to Scoop Ice Cream for Charity at Ben & Jerry’s April 17
Ben & Jerry’s at the Galleria Mall will be serving free ice cream cones to benefit the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum with the “29th Annual Free Cone Day.”
Ben & Jerry’s will be holding their “29th Annual Free Cone Day” at the Galleria Mall at Sunset in Henderson to benefit the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum. All small cones will be free with no purchase obligation necessary, but patrons are encouraged to make a donation. Local celebrities will roll up their sleeves and work to help raise money for the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum by scooping ice cream throughout the day on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 from noon to 8 p.m.
Local celebrities that will be at Ben & Jerry’s at the Galleria Mall include Mark and Mercedes from Mix 94.1, Norm Clarke from the Review Journal, Amazing Jonathan and Penny, Mosaic and The Scintas.
“Free Cone Day” was originally launched to thank the community for their loyalty to Ben & Jerry’s and to congratulate the staff. It was such a huge success it is now a tradition that is celebrated each year. “Free Cone Day” at Ben & Jerry’s will happen across the country and all proceeds are donated to local charities. On “Free Cone Day,” Ben & Jerry’s anticipate to give away more than one million free ice cream cones nationally.
In addition to free ice cream cones, patrons who make a donation to the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum will receive a certificate for a complementary delicious cupcake from The Cupcakery. Each donor will receive one certificate.
Lied Discovery Children’s Museum is an important part of the community reaching out to children and families. The museum features hands on exhibits, a Traveling Exhibition Gallery, an Early Childhood Pavilion and an eight-story Science Tower. They received national and state awards while being recognized for their outstanding quality of education and involvement in the community. The Lied Discovery Children’s Museum is a wonderful place to take your children so that they can play in a stress-free learning environment.
