Mr. Olympia weekend comes back to Vegas
I guess you could call it the World Series of bodybuilding. Mr. Olympia weekend is back in town and will be running from today through Sunday.
Most of the weekend’s events will be taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, but the competition finals will be held at the Orleans Arena on Saturday night.
If you’ve never had a shred of interest in bodybuilding, I wouldn’t blame you. But if your curiosity ever pushed you to look a little further than the mountains of flesh and muscle that are its competitors, you’ll find that the sport is much more complicated than a bunch of guys lifting weights and posing.
Beginning tomorrow, the Olympia Expo will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Expo will showcase the latest innovations in sports science and nutrition and is expected to attract thousands of bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts. In addition to the Expo, model searches, martial arts competitions, and all manner of demonstrations will fill the time leading up to the Olympia finals.
If you’re still balking at the idea of bodybuilding as a sport, don’t laugh too hard. This competition produced the man who would one day be the governor of California.
For full details and ticket information, visit the Mr. Olympia website.
Body builders are essential to the Las Vegas experience. Look in the online business directory to find the Las Vegas Convention Center and check it out! There are a lot of Las Vegas hotels around the Convention Center to stay in. You can always check the Las Vegas hospitals after the body building competition to see if any builders couldn't meet the challenge.
