Internet TV takes root in the Las Vegas desert
Las Vegas is growing and becoming more of an urban center—a shopping and entertainment mecca.
Take for instance the growing technology community, led by innovative firms like Verde Communications. Verde offers business broadband service including high-speed Internet, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone, Web hosting, network management and alternate path redundant broadband throughout in the Las Vegas Valley. They’re the Valley’s largest, most experienced wireless broadband provider.
There’s another technology-based industry finding fertile soil in Las Vegas, and that’s Internet television.
Since the Internet has made its way into nearly every business and home in America, and communications firms are combining services like cable TV, phone and Internet service, it only makes sense that more and more services are provided via the Internet.
What was first sent through air waves, then cable and satellite, is now being dished up from production companies straight to consumers.
There are three Las Vegas-based Internet television companies we’re aware of. Perhaps there are even more (and you’re welcome to contact us if you know of others).
Although they take a similar approach in distribution via the Internet, each “station” has unique programming.
