Las Vegas landmark eatery burns down

Cappozzoli’s, a long standing Italian restaurant on Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway, has been reduced to rubble and ash.

At 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, the restaurant's owner closed shop and headed home. The fire started 10 minutes later.

Fire officials are investigating what started the blaze. No one was hurt.

Although the restaurant had been a Las Vegas landmark for 19 years, residents may not have lost their chance for authentic Italian fare yet.

Casa di Amore on Tropicana near Eastern was opened by one of the original co-owners of Cappozzoli’s. Read our very own Pete Codella’s review here.
