Madonna confession: “I hate Las Vegas”

MadonnaEver say something in the heat of the moment and know you’d surely live to regret it? Most of us do.

It stands to reason then that the Material Girl would be no exception to the rule. When asked about mounting a Celine Dion-esque show in Vegas, she is reported as saying, “That’s insane. I hate Las Vegas. I couldn’t bear it for five minutes.”

Well, Queen of Pop, guess you’ll be eating those words next month!

In case you haven’t heard, Madonna’s Confessions Tour is scheduled for Las Vegas on May 27 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Other stops on the tour include Fresno, Inglewood, and San Jose, California; Glendale, Arizona; Chicago, Illinois; Montreal, Quebec; Hartford, Connecticut; New York City; Boston, Massachusetts; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Miami, Florida.

Madonna’s 11 multi-platinum albums have sold more than 200 million records. Her 2006 tour, in support of her new Confessions on a Dance Floor album, is billed as including a new state-of-the-art sound system and more disco balls than you’ve ever seen in one place, according to Madonna.

While the return of disco balls may not be something to get excited about, the return of Madonna to the tour circuit may be. That is if you can pony up nearly $400 a ticket. Or how about up to $3,600 from resellers … gulp!

Madonna said she hated vegas after she did her "Drowned World" tour back in 2001. It was a horrible concert and everybody sat down. I'm sure she likes Vegas a lot more now. Her concert here two years ago was incredible and the audience was really enthusiastic.

I think she had just meant that she would never do a residency there (unlike some other artists), but obviously has no problem with a one-off show.

Madonna was talking about her Drowned World Tour when MGM gave seats to thier Highrollers which in fact didnt care about Madonna and sat down through her performance. Madonna loves it when she has a fan base which dance and give her energy on stage. When a crowd of rich 50 somethings are sitting down...it could kill your feel for a concert. So she reportedly told the front sections to get up or she wont perform. WORK IT MADONNA. This Concert is gonna rock out.

I hate las vegas i'm from los angeles, california and vegas is only 280 miles away by car its fun to visit vegas for a few days but i stayed a few months resently when a family member move from L.A.and bought a new home in vegas. the new homes are cheap compared to california.but after 2 months i hated vegas and came home. alot of drunk drivers and fatal accidents "thats not cool". alot of low class trashy looking people. walmarts are everywhere.Alot of hard looking people who smoke and drink and eat too much "if you know what i mean.my relative moved into a beautiful area in vegas called "mountains edge" in the south west part of the city south of the famed las vegas strip. its a master planned community. alot of transplaints from california are here who loved the homes and the area but hated the city & the real hillbilly side of the city.i don't mean to be rude because i left there feeling sorry for the local folks of the state of nevada because the state government does'nt seem to care about the people who live there. loose drinking and driving laws. building new houses and construction sites in areas without enough street lights. local bars pop up everywhere on streets without enough light. crime is as bad as L.A. but vegas isn't nearly the size of L.A. alot of meth drug use among the young people and north las vegas has alot of shootings. everytime you turn on the news. "thats the secret that stays in vegas baby" i'd rather be a lamp post in L.A., San Francisco, london, paris, and New York then be the mayor of Las Vegas.those cities have alot of culture vegas does not.vegas is fake!
